Tricon Strain Clamp Assemblies and Associated Hardware are manufactured using materials selected to ensure high mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and long-term service reliability in overhead line applications.
Clamp bodies and keeper components are precision-cast from high-strength, non-copper-bearing aluminum alloy, providing excellent mechanical performance while minimizing the risk of galvanic corrosion. U-bolts, clevis pins, and related fastening components are fabricated from high-grade steel to ensure consistent load retention and structural integrity under service and overload conditions. Cotter keys are manufactured from stainless steel for enhanced corrosion resistance and secure locking performance.
Socket eyes and clevis connectors are produced from high-strength ductile iron, offering superior toughness and fatigue resistance. These components may be supplied integrally with the clamp assembly or as separate hardware, depending on project requirements.
Ball clevis fittings are manufactured from drop-forged steel to ensure uniform grain structure and high mechanical strength. The shank diameters for ANSI Class 52-3 and 52-5 pins conform to ANSI insulator mechanical and electrical (M&E) strength ratings of 15,000 lbs and 25,000 lbs, respectively, ensuring full compatibility with standard insulator strings and fittings.
